Physical Security Support

ABOUT THE ROLE

The physical security support specialist plays a vital role in helping the physical security manager on his daily missions and his representativeness with the clients. He/she works inter-departmentally to identify and correct flaws in the company’s security systems, solutions, and programs while recommending specific measures that can improve the company’s overall security posture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Physical security support specialist is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the company’s physical assets are protected from unauthorized access. This includes securing both online and on-premises infrastructures, weeding through metrics and data to filter out suspicious activity.

Physical security support specialist are also responsible for generating reports for business and customer service managers to evaluate the efficacy of the security policies in place. They will then help to make the necessary changes for a more secure environment and may also ensure that the training programs are being delivered to the employees and users on proper security protocols.

Others specific responsibilities include:

•            Monitoring security access

•            Performing both internal and external security audits

•            Verifying the security of third-party vendors and collaborating with them to meet security requirements

•            Deliver a monthly alarm metrics analysis

•            Creation of SOP’s

•            Security incident management (incl investigation on events)

•            Handover on logs/ right access and specific customers reports

•            Set the access rules on GENETEC for the upcoming buildings

•            Support on writing DATA4 processes and rules concerning security best practices.

•            Support on managing SECURITAS contract

•            Building evacuation planning on H2

•            Support the physical security manager on security site tour

RESPONSIBILITES IN TERMS OF IMS CERTIFICATIONS

Respect and enforce certification policies in terms of:

·       H&S: Respect and enforce health and safety rules.

·       Environment: Respect and enforce environmental policies.

·       Information security: Respect and enforce information security policies

·       Energy: Respect and enforce the policy of reducing energy consumption.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High level of collaboration capacity to work closely with the Physical security manager to achieve assigned missions.
  • Training capacity they must have necessary knowledge and ease to deliver tools to trainees.
  • Intrusion prevention involves monitoring access traffic to detect potential threats and then responding to these threats promptly.
  • Report delivery capacity to produce analysis and report to the customer service manager team and client.
  • Security software knowledge complete knowledge and understanding of the security software tool

The most successful specialist is detail-oriented and have an analytical mindset. For the most part, security specialist work with scenarios – and this could mean poring over thousands and thousands of pages of data to look for anomalies. Interpersonal skills are also crucial; analysts need to help train security specialists. They must have the capacity to produce analysis and report to the customer service manager team and client on better security protocols and regularly communicate with executive leadership.
