ABOUT THE ROLE

The Capex Controlling Manager is part of the Group Finance team and is responsible for the quality of the financial information related to capital expenditures at Group level, reported internally to Executive Committee, and externally to shareholders and in consolidated accounts. This involves being a business partner to the Construction and Operations teams for projects budget follow-up and risk assessment, and defining and ensuring the application of standardized best practices across the Group. This role requires strong coordination skills, the ability to manage several topics simultaneously, and analytical skills.

The Capex Controlling Manager collaborates closely with various stakeholders: local Finance teams, Project Capex Control Manager in the Construction team, Head of Consolidation, and members of the Group Management Board.

The Capex Controlling Manager reports to the Head of Controlling and will manage a team of 2 Capex Financial Controllers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Capex Controlling Manager, your responsibilities will consist of managing:

  • Defining, strengthening and ensuring implementation of capex financial management best practices across the Group:
    • Ensuring consistency of processes for Purchase Orders (initiation, approval, analytical codes, controlling of allocations)
    • With local Finance teams, defining an efficient controlling process of the accounting
    • For each project, structuring a pluri-annual and annual follow-up (setting the structure to be applied by each country)
    • Reconciliation between paid capex, accounting, debt drawdowns and bank statements
  • Reporting:
    • Internal monthly reporting by project of (i) capex engaged / invoiced / paid, to be challenged and rationalized with the physical progress of works, and (ii) budget vs last estimate
    • Monthly reporting to shareholders
    • Inputs for Quarterly Board Presentation
    • Inputs for Quarterly Consolidated accounts
    • Quarterly capex reforecast for the year
  • Acting as a Business Partner for:
    • Construction team: for datacenter and infrastructure projects, review and challenge of: last estimated budgets by projects in order to identify areas of budget overrun risks and propose mitigation actions, invoicing forecast
    • Operations team: for assets maintenance plans, implement, strengthen and formalize an efficient budget follow-up process
    • Consolidation team: review of fixed assets schedules prepared by local Finance teams, consolidation in a Group capex tracking schedule and related SOX controls
    • Procurement team: to optimize procurement strategy based on historical performance
  • Forecasting / Business Planning:
    • Providing inputs for the yearly Business Plan update (construction, infrastructure and maintenance capex) and related SOX controls
    • Each month and quarter, based on actuals, provide inputs for capex reforecast

PROFILE

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced finance professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; SOX knowledge is a plus.
  • Expertise in project accounting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Skilled in risk analysis, data analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management abilities.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and capable of working under pressure.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to turn complex data into insights.
