CAPEX Financial Controller group

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Capex Financial Controller is part of the Group Finance team and contributes to the quality of the financial information related to capital expenditures at Group level, reported internally to Executive Committee, and externally to shareholders and in consolidated accounts. This involves being a business partner to the Construction and Operations teams for projects budget follow-up and risk assessment, and defining and ensuring the application of standardized best practices across the Group. This role requires strong coordination skills, the ability to manage several topics simultaneously, and analytical skills.

The Capex Financial Controller reports to the Capex Controlling Manager and collaborates closely with various stakeholders: local Finance teams, Project Capex Control Manager in the Construction team, and members of the Group Management Board.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Capex Financial Controller, your responsibilities will consist of:

  • Controlling:
    • Verifying application of processes for Purchase Orders (analytical codes, controlling of allocations)
    • For each project, contributing to the structuring a pluri-annual and annual budget follow-up
    • Reconciliation between paid capex, accounting, debt drawdowns and bank statements
  • Reporting:
    • For internal and shareholder monthly reporting: collection, formalization and review of (i) capex engaged / invoiced / paid, to be challenged and rationalized with the physical progress of works, and (ii) budget vs last estimate
    • Contributing to Quarterly Board Presentation (actuals and reforecasts)
  • Collaborating closely with:
    • Construction team: for datacenter and infrastructure projects, consolidate, summarize and review (i) last estimated budgets by project in order to identify areas of budget overrun risks (ii) invoicing forecast
    • Operations team: for assets maintenance assist the team in performing monthly and quarterly budget follow-ups compared to maintenance plans
    • Consolidation team: contributing to inputs for quarterly consolidation and the preparation of related SOX controls.
  • Forecasting / Business Planning:
    • Contributing to the yearly Business Plan update (construction, infrastructure and maintenance capex) and preparation of related SOX controls.
    • Each month and quarter, based on actuals, provide inputs for capex reforecast

RESPONSIBILITES IN TERMS OF IMS CERTIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in financial controlling/audit. Experience in the construction industry would be a plus.

Technical skills

  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills
  • Fluent in English and French
  • SOX knowledge would be a plus
  • Proficient in using Microsoft tools, especially Excel and PowerBI
